Madhya Pradesh: The brutal attack on the female principal of a private college has left the community of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, shaken. The police official in charge of the investigation revealed that Ashutosh Srivastava, a former student of the BM College of Pharmacy, poured petrol on the principal, Vimukta Sharma, and set her ablaze over a marksheet dispute. The incident occurred on Monday when the college was closed, and Sharma was on the campus, plucking ‘bilva patra’ leaves from a tree. She sustained severe burns on her body and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
This is not the first time that Srivastava has been involved in such an attack. He had allegedly attacked a college professor four months ago over the same marksheet dispute. The professor sustained minor injuries in that incident, and Srivastava was arrested and later released on bail. College authorities also reported that his marksheet had not yet been received by them, according to the police official in charge of the case.
After setting the principal on fire, Srivastava fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police. He was found near Tinchha waterfall, and he attempted to jump, but a passerby called the police, and they nabbed him. Srivastava has been arrested, and he is now in police custody. The incident has sparked outrage among the local community, and they are calling for stricter action against such violent behavior. The police are investigating the incident further to determine the motive and the circumstances that led to this heinous crime.
